Aged and Children Pastoralists Association (ACPA) has developed this 42 months project with partners for the Liben Cluster Dawa Zone, and particularly for Mubarak Woreda.
RESET II focuses on four result areas:
(1) Improved access to basic services;
(2) Enhanced livelihood Income and diversification of opportunities;
(3) Improved Disaster Risk Management capacity; and,
(4)Research & knowledge management. The geographical coverage of RESET II program will focus on
41 woredas (districts) in 5 Regional State of Ethiopia, namely Afar, Amhara, Oromia, SNNPR and Somali, and direct beneficiaries are estimated to be around 1.2 million people from the most vulnerable communities.
The project has been designed based on ACPAs experience and knowledge of the project areas, and these displays will incorporate the recent assessment and field visits of the organization, meetings with government representatives and community consultations in the project area of Dawa Zone.
In order to Increase access to and quality of basic health and nutrition services, potable water supply and improving sanitation and hygiene.
A joint assessment on nutrition aspect of the woreda have been conducted together with the Woreda health office in all kebeles.
Through this assessment the target beneficiaries for the livelihood intervention identified based on their vulnerability criteria.
In order to assess project’s impact at completion, assessment of information against the project log frame gathered through desk reviews and field visits.
Community familiarization together with the government administration and project line offices.
57% of males and 50% of females sampled attended at one public meeting in community mobilization event held at all the project Kebeles
To secure the cooperation commitments of the partner government line offices, establish the project team and identify the regional and zonal project focal people.
Six key government offices (health, education, water, agriculture and livestock as well as DPPO) were mobilized and sensitized with the project target plans in the implementation woreda of Mubarak.
For the promotion of household consumption to increase household as well as individual dietary diversity.
A profiling took place in the 7 kebeles of the woreda for the poultry production, consumption and marketing at household or backyard level.
In Mubarak woreda 100 HHs are targeted to be supplied with local breed hens and supported through poultry production.
